Success breeds success. The rich get richer. That's not news. What may surprise you is what it means to get off to a good start. Here's a study that demonstrates how goal attainment and project progress leads to an upward spiral of happiness and success.

Structure
Hi, I heard you on NPR radio as a guest speaker on procrastination.
I am not a full-time procrastinator, but I do procrastinate at times. I find that writing out my tasks and checking them off as I complete them helpful for me when I have deadlines. In addition, if I schedule an appointment to do whatever work it is that I need to do on a calendar, this is the sure way that I complete the task at hand.
I also speak to others about what I'm working on and then I see or speak to them again on the phone and they ask me how my progress is going. I have found that I usually procrastinate if I am not all the way interested in what I need to get done or I have too many other obligations happening all at once because I may have had an accident. This recently happened to me. I broke my elbow back in January and I am a full-time college student who also works part-time. Breaking my elbow caused me to have to fill out a lot of financial assistance applications, very long ones.
An example of taking on too many activities, this term I took 22 credits so I could take 13 credits in the summer and finally complete my undergraduate degree after going to college off and on but consistently these last two years. I completed all my credits this term without getting an incomplete and I will never allow myself to do that again. Somehow I'm still functioning and I did reward myself for that accomplishment by eating out and tidying up my apartment. Lol.
It helps me to reward myself for achieving accomplishing my goals on time. I feel good being on time with my activities and usually do not have to rush myself to get things done because I know what to do when things get too stressful by using my stress reducing tools such as evaluating what is going on in my life and figuring out ways to approach tasks easier.
I have saved this NPR broadcast by e-mailing the show to me. I enjoy this discussion you were involved in and your website here. Thank you for researching this topic so thoroughly.
Sincerely,
A structured on-again/off-again procrastinator
