typo, indeed--rather a conscious choice

As a former English professor, I know the rules . . . and occasionally choose to break them. In this particular post, I was using the 1st person plural throughout the article, rather than use he/her, his/hers, and the like, which I've always found extremey awkward. But since I was really referring to "each one of us" (singular), I chose to use a newly minted (!) singular pronoun: namely, "ourself." I do this quite consciously throughout the post--sorry you never got used to it, or could "excuse" me the liberty.
