Once having gotten past logistics (fee, location, hours/availability, specialty, etc.) I tell my clients that finding a therapist is a bit like grocery shopping.
You don't simply buy everything, or just anything in the store. A discerning customer is likely to shop around, and wants to educate themselves on products. One may pull a product off of the shelf, but before buying one might look at the price, the dietary information, and the ingredients. One might pull down another product to compare and contrast the two.
There is no obligation to go with the first product that you pick up. And having "tasted" something, one may decide to never buy that product again. But, even if you have a bad experience, you don't give up on grocery shopping all together.
